  • Session 1:

Carving the wax into your own ring design

The workshop begins with a coffee or tea, accompanied by a look at various samples you'll be working with on the day. You'll be introduced to a range of wax carving techniques and tools for creating your ring. You'll start by sketching out your design, with plenty of samples and images available for inspiration. Essential tips and tricks will be shared to help unleash your creativity. Then, you'll move on to carving your wax, refining it until you're satisfied with the result. We'll guide you through the final steps of completing and preparing your ring for casting during the following session.

    Session 2:

Casting your ring into Delft Clay Mould and Finishing your silver ring!

Using the delft clay casting method, we'll press your wax piece into an aluminum mould filled with specialized sand that retains its shape when compressed. Silver will be melted in a crucible and poured into the mould, creating a silver casting from your ring.

There's the exciting option of adding gemstones within the mould, offering a flexible and fun approach to enhancing your ring with sparkle!

The casting will then need to be finished and polished! The finishing of your project is an essential part of creating a successful and gorgeous jewellery piece. You'll be using traditional jewellery techniques and tools such as sawing, filing, sanding, and polishing. There's nothing more exciting than giving the final shine to your personal project!
